Abstract

The aim of this report is to present an updated map of salt affected soils of the European Union.
Together with the new map of salt affected soils in the EU a description is given on the methodology
and datasets applied to derive the map. The report also contains an overview of the threat
salinization/sodification, including a summary of the factors influencing the salt accumulation in
soils.
